Seeing The Father In Us!

Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth:  Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me (Deuteronomy 5:8-9).

All over the world, people have different misconceptions of who or what they think God is. Some believe He's everywhere and in everything. By that, they mean, if you see a great stone or a tree, for instance, that's God; anything you want God to be represented with, that's who and where He is. No, that's ignorance on rampage! God isn't that stone or big tree you see in the park; He's the Creator of the whole world.

The Psalmist said of Him: "Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands."(Psalms 102:25). He created all things; therefore He's greater than all creation. He therefore can't be represented by His creatures for He's too great--too big for that.

The Bible tells us in the book of Acts how Paul encountered certain people at Athens who thought this way about God. They were mostly Athenian philosophers who has a muddled idea about God's personality. Paul in his response to them said: "Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device.  And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent" (Acts 17:29-30).

He made them realize that the reason they likened or represented God with physical objects was because of their ignorance of who He is. Jesus came to show us what God is like. He said in John 14:9, "...he that hath seen me hath seen the Father..." He is the express image of the Father's person (Hebrews 1:3).
Colossians 2:9 says "For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily."

Being born again, we have the nature of the Father. We have the life of Christ. Like Jesus, we can say, if you have seen me, you have seen the Father: "...as He is, so are we in this world...." (1 john 4:17). We're today the effulgence of His glory, the express image of His person, sharers of His life and partakers of His divine nature.

PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for the life of Christ in me! As He is, so am I in this world, to be your expression to the world in love. Thank you for giving me the ability to live and function like you, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

"Such As You Have... Give!"

Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength (Acts 3:6-7).

Jesus said in Mark 16:17-18 "...these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils... they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover."  He didn't say we should negotiate with sickness; He said heal the sick. Lay your hands on the sick and they shall recover. The apostles didn't pray for those who were sick; they healed them. Peter healed the crippled man at the gate of the temple called Beautiful. He said to the man: "...Look on us" (Acts 3:4).

The impotent man, expecting to receive alms, gave Peter and John his attention, but Peter didn't have any money on him at the time. But he knew he had something greater than money; the Name of Jesus. Hence he said to the impotent man, "...silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee..." Peter made a demand on the Name of Jesus and a miracle took place. He transmitted the power of God into the man's body using the Name of Jesus.

It reminds me of a certain lady confined to a wheelchair because she was unable to walk. I had preached during the service on the Name of Jesus and as I looked at her, I noticed she had been crying, I said to her, "In the Name of Jesus, get up." She leapt off the wheelchair instantly, walking and praising God. I had something to give.

We've been given the power of attorney to use the Name of Jesus. You can bless your world with the Name of Jesus and the life of God in you. When you make a demand on that Name, miracles take place. Your hands are not empty; they are divine instruments through which eternal life flows. So you have something to give; something with which to bless the world.

CONFESSION
Dear Father, I thank you for your pulsating life that permeates my entire being, and with which I bless my world today. I'm conscious that I have something to give; therefore I distribute the blessings of the Kingdom to those I come in contact with today. This is an awesome privilege and I'm grateful to you for it, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Relish Every Moment!

The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows) (John 10:10 AMP).

Life is a journey, and while on that journey, it’s important you enjoy the trip and relish every moment. There’s so much God has placed on your way, for you to enjoy as you journey through life. In other words, life is not all about the future or the sweet-by-and-by; God wants you to enjoy today. It’s great to be focused on your journey or the tasks ahead, but while at it, relish the passing moments.

Observe Jesus’ statement in our opening scripture, He said “I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).” God wants you to enjoy the life He has given to you because that’s the reason Jesus came in the first place. You have to enjoy every day of your journey in life. If you don’t enjoy yourself, no one will enjoy being around you. Let every moment of your life be pleasurable because God has given you all things freely for the basic purpose of enjoyment (1 Timothy 6:17).

If you don’t enjoy the simple little things of life that God has given to you, you really can’t enjoy spiritual realities. So, firstly, start out by appreciating yourself, and then also the people God has placed in your world. Appreciate even the little things as what you wear – your shoes, clothes, jewelleries – etc! Even your devices, such as your handheld phones, relish them; enjoy the features.

You also have to learn to let go of your past experiences, especially the unpleasant ones, and have no fret or fear of tomorrow. The regrets of yesterday and fears of tomorrow are enemies of today’s happiness. God doesn’t live in your yesterday, and He doesn’t triumph in your fears, all He expects of you is to be the best of you and enjoy every moment of your life TODAY!

Prayer
Dear Father, thank you for the great and precious blessings you’ve made available to me to enjoy today. Thank you for loading me daily with all the benefits of life such that I’m thoroughly furnished with all I need to live joyfully today. I thank you for your glory and grace that you’ve bestowed on me to reign in life today and forever, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Get Your Hopes Up!

Friends, usually I don't share personal stories, not even the miracles I experience from time to time but I have to give you this little tip: Get your hopes up!

Yesterday I noticed that I ran out of bottled water. At the superstore I didn't find water but I saw that grapefruit were at $.99 when a few weeks before I bought some at $1.29 each, so I got some. A bunch of inviting spinach was close by so I got that too, and since I'm buying stuff I like, why not get some tuna in oil too? (By the way, I don't recommend impulse shopping but I ran out of grapefruit and barely had spinach--yeah I actually love both grapefruit and spinach!)
At the self-checkout, I had an attendant help me figure out how to check out produce. After she left I paid (debit) and the option for cash-back popped up. The thought of mid-week service offering came to mind so I selected an amount. But balancing a stack of tuna, a flimsy produce bag(the transparent, ultra-light ones you find in the produce section of your supermarket) of grapefruit, another with the spinach, was no easy task let me tell you. (I could have gotten a regular grocery bag, but why waste plastic?) So I drew both bags over my wrists and stacked the tuna quite nicely. Phew! I grabbed my receipt and it's adios superstore!

On the drive home I felt in my spirit that something was off... I couldn't put my finger on what was, so I spoke in tongues for a bit then confessed-- "no weapons formed against me shall prosper, I am favoured and graced, thank you Holy Spirit!"

At home, I couldn't sit without the sensation of movement and time and again I sensed something was off. Still, sometimes my brain just doesn't connect with my spirit as fast as I'd like... A few hours later, in my car outside church, it finally dawned on me; I left the money at the self-checkout! I can't rush back now, church will begin in the next ten minutes and it's such a long drive...

Can I tell you though, I think I've got to train my soul better, because my visceral reaction had been to rush back for the money. Then calmly, I thought, "It's only money and maybe the next person to use the machine really needed the money, so it's fine..."
I blessed God's name.

Well church was in a prayer mood. No teaching nor preaching, just prayer points. While praying in tongues the thought came to me that I should return to the superstore for the money. It would be there. Of course, I might have been anxious with "...but so many hours have passed, it was a self-checkout, what if...?", however, my spirit remained unperturbed. No murmurings.

Went home, checked the receipt and sure enough, cash back was recorded. On the way to the store, I wanted to fall back into old habits and ponder the possible outcomes (generally negative), but a strange tightening sensation at the top of my head kept me focused on wondering what the Spirit was trying to tell me.

(Normally if I'm at one place but is required to be at another, I would feel moving sensations in my feet or on the seat of my chair, depending on whether I'm standing or sitting, coupled with goose-pimples and the thought that I should get up or walk away. A recent example was a couple days before, I was driving to a government service office that I hadn't been to in over a year. At a stop light I got the sensations etc, but none of impending danger. Still, I should have obeyed and turned back, but prayed instead (I reasoned that I was close anyway. Don't do that). When I got there, it turned out that the office was vacated six months prior. Had I obeyed, I would have saved on gas and time.)

This time, I only had the tightening sensation at the top of my head, but no movements, ideas or electrical sensations, telling me turn back. When I got to the store I marched up the the attendant, "Hi, I left so-and-so money at the machine today".
I don't think I was hallucinating when I saw a bit of disappointment washed over her face and for a moment I wondered if I sounded rude. She looked over my receipt and gingerly opened her register. Beneath some smaller bills, she pulled out the money with a note attached that read "customer left money in machine *smily face*".
"See!", she declared, "we are honest people here!". That I agree with!

However, while it's lovely to see how honest the people who came across the money were, a number of other things struck me: As soon as you get a sign that something is off, immediately do something about it, make life confessions, giving praises to God; never accept "no" or "failure" as an option; never ponder negative outcomes, no matter how small a matter they may seem to concern; the Holy Spirit, once you acknowledge and ask Him as a person for guidance, He will find (physical) ways to train you; And finally, get your hopes up!

Addendum: As I was washing my hair, a much greater revelation came to me; Neither that girl or anyone else who came in contact with that money could've touched it, whether they were honest or not.
1. I remained in agreement with the Holy Spirit when I remained calm and peaceful without murmuring or complaining. (btw, read what the Bible says about complainers and murmurers)

2. I remained in agreement with the confession I was prompted to make at the very outset.

3. I didn't ponder, conjure up or imagined any negative outcome (well I was being trained not to, similar to how I've noticed Caesar Milan, "the dog whisperer", trains dogs to re-focus hah aha!

4. I didn't magnify the money over my ability to acquire it.(this is important, acknowledgement and magnification are principles not often spoken of, let alone in depth-- I'll expound on some revelations soon enough though!)

5. The money was already promised to God so no one could touch it.

6. When God gives you a seed idea, you're responsible to bring it to fruition (the thought of an offering at church was the seed idea-- therefore imagining, expecting and confessing an evil outcome would be stifling that to that end).
