Value God's People

As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith (Galatians 6:10).

Imagine a nurse who relegates her job and thinks she has a wretched job; she feels terrible each time she has to treat sick people because to her, they stink. Such a nurse needs to be ashamed, not of her job, but of her reasoning. She has failed to take advantage of her job as an opportunity to touch people with the love of God.

The most valuable assets on earth are not the fancy cars, airplanes, exotic buildings or any of the physical structures; it's human beings. The Bible says, for God so loved the world, not the world of things, but the world of men, that He gave His only begotten Son to die for us and show us our value (John 3:16). You're valuable to God; that's why He doesn't want you sick or poor. He wants you well, happy and prosperous.

God expects you to value others the same way He values you. Don't despise people. It's easy to tell whether or not you love people from the way you talk to them. If at any time you've despised someone, you ought to fall on your knees in repentance before the Lord and ask Him to forgive you. Understand that no matter how famous or successful you may be, having value and true regard for people is what counts with God.

You may be a great preacher, winning thousands of souls all over the world but that's nothing to God if you haven't learned to walk in love and value people for who they really are. He's only impressed by the compassion we have and show to people around us. He's impressed by the love you show to those for whom Jesus died; that is what makes us true soul winners, and true disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ. "
By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another." (John 13:35)

PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for placing so much value on me, and demonstrating your great love for me with the death of the Lord Jesus on the cross. I know I am valueable because of the great price you paid for my salvation. I ask that you'll help me value others the same way you have valued me, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

PSALM 91- THE MESSAGE- Personalized

Psalm 91

I, Trelan Hylton, who sit down in the High God's presence, spend the night in Shaddai's shadow,
Say this: "God, you're my refuge.
I trust in you and I'm safe!"
That's right—he rescues me from hidden traps,
shields me from deadly hazards.
His huge outstretched arms protect me—
under them I'm perfectly safe;
his arms fend off all harm.
Fear nothing—not wild wolves in the night,
not flying arrows in the day,
Not disease that prowls through the darkness,
not disaster that erupts at high noon.
Even though others succumb all around,
drop like flies right and left,
no harm will even graze me.
I'll stand untouched, watch it all from a distance,
watch the wicked turn into corpses.
Yes, because God's my refuge,
the High God my very own home,
Evil can't get close to me,
harm can't get through the door.
He ordered his angels
to guard me wherever I go.
If I stumble, they'll catch me;
their job is to keep me from falling.
I'll walk unharmed among lions and snakes,
and kick young lions and serpents from the path.

"If you'll hold on to me for dear life," says God,
"I'll get you out of any trouble.
I'll give you the best of care
if you'll only get to know and trust me.
Call me and I'll answer, be at your side in bad times;
I'll rescue you, then throw you a party.
I'll give you a long life,
give you a long drink of salvation!"

How to Function in Faith

If you've been reading this blog, you should get a good picture of what faith is and how to use it, but if you haven't, I'll do a quick compilation for you.

Secular North American media have mislead people to believing that faith is in the realm of religion. When you ask a joe-shmoe, who has never been to church, what faith is, he'll most likely say "oh, that's religion and stuff..." But he couldn't be more wrong if he tried.

Everyone, I said everyone, has faith. Every time you board a plane you're stepping out on faith. How do you know the pilot can do as he claims? How do you know that big hunk of metal is safe? How do you know terrorists won't be on there? Naw, you just see that you'll be hugging your mother and checking out her reaction to the home-made muffins you brought her. You even tell your friend, "mommy is so going to want my recipe!" (and guess what; you'll be right!) That's faith in the pilot, plane and fellow passengers, but can you trust God? Everyone has trust in and act upon things they believe without seeing. Folks who don't are generally residents of asylums for paranoid schizophrenics.

God's Word produces the faith for the things that God has already given you!

What is faith? Faith is a full, deep belief(that comes to a knowing) in something without physical evidence of it, and acting on that belief.
Faith calls real, that thing you've dared to hope for. Faith is not hope, faith says it's done even though your physical senses says something else. Faith is active. Faith is in the NOW.

Faith is no respecter of circumstances or situations. With faith, ALL things are possible.

You start with a desire
Faith starts with a desire for change. A yearning for a new possibility. If you have no desire or goal, ask God to give you something to desire.

So how does one get faith? So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:17) Simply put, you get faith by what you pay attention to. It comes by the words you imbibe(recieve and chew on). The Word of God is the word of Life. These are the words that will grow and sustain your faith. These are the words you have to get in agreement with.

The importance of Words
Notice I kept speaking of words? Well I'll let you in on a secret; Words have power! They possess in them, the ability to cause changes.
'The Spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life." (John 6:63 NLV)

God used words to create the world. In fact God himself is the Word. John 1:1 says
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." Genesis is filled with "...And God said"

But here's the thing, words on a piece of paper wont change anything. You have to speak it. It is the spoken word that builds faith; so when you read the word of God, you do so out loud and personalize it.

You meditate on the Word every chance you get. Understand, meditate doesn't mean you sit down, close your eyes and think, think and think some more -naw, that's some new age-y eastern religion thing. Bible meditation means you start by muttering it(your desire) under your breath, then say it out loud, then roar it(that happens when you've become fully convinced).
"This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; thou shalt meditate therein day and night." Joshua 1:8

Images
Meditating on the Word produces the image you need in your spirit. Make no mistake about it; if you can't see it, you can't have it. God sees the end from the beginning (and so should you). God is a Spirit and lives in a realm that precedes( and creates) this physical one. So that fancy car you desire already exists in the realm of the spirit; your job is to pull it into the physical via your faith. But you have to picture yourself driving it, telling someone about how you took a lovely trip in it etc. If all you see is the process of you trying to get it; know that you'll remain stuck in that process. You have to picture the end results.

Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times [the things] that are not [yet] done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: (Isaiah 46:10)

And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered. (Genesis 13:16) Look at that; God gave Abram a picture to see the end results of his numerous offspring! We're talking of an old man with a barren old wife here. God gave him a picture and God also changed his name to Abraham(father of many) so that the man will hear himself being called father over and over again every time someone calls his name!

Use the word to build the image so that you can live out the reality of it.

Agreement
Whatever you accept, you will get. Simple as that concept sounds, it is a functioning law. I call it the law of agreement.

I also tell you this: If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you. (Matthew 18:19)

See what Jesus said about agreement? When you and another person or persons agree on the outcome of a thing, it will go as agreed.
Another scenario is when you agree with or accept a circumstance or allow a situation. You do so with words.
Example; the doctor gives you a report that you've got cancer; stage 4. You can do one of two things; accept his report, saying "what does that mean? How long will I live..." etc or you can refuse his report and agree with the Word ("by his stripes ye were healed"), saying "I have the life of God in me! No disease that comes against me shall prosper! I function in divine health!", picturing yourself playing tennis or your favourite sport years from now.

When you hear word of faith pastors like Kenneth Copeland, Bill Winston, Joel Osteen, Creflo Dollar, Pastor Chris Oykhilome, Charles Capps etc mentioning "getting in agreement with God", they're speaking of accepting and believing His Word as truth.

If you get in agreement with a negative word or circumstance, that's what you will have. You get what you accept. Another way to look at it is believe or imbibe. Sometimes negative thoughts and images flash in your mind, immediately use words against those thoughts and pictures.

I remember driving from lunch with a couple of friends, enjoying light conversations when one said "you know, sometimes when I'm driving I see myself in a major accident, badly injured or killed--" me and the other girl jumped on it immediately. "I bind that in the name of Jesus!" the other girl shouts, while I declared life over the girl with the evil vision. I had to counsel her to never speak such words aloud, to speak against such images and to stand against them in spirit. Had we not, she might have been dead not very long after her words to us.

When an evil thought pushes itself into your mind, cover your mouth or better yet, speak against it. Never accept it.

Act
So now you have the desire, words, end result picture and belief but what next? Now it's time to act on what you believe. Now is the time you DO the word because you've already perceived in the spirit that it's done.
You've been told by doctors that you can't bear children, but now you've built up your faith, saw yourself taking home that baby that looks just like you and your husband, got in agreement with your husband, so what's next? You go out and buy baby clothes, food etc. You clear out that extra room and paint it in pastels and baby decorations. You're acting on your faith when you do this.

Jesus Came to Give Us Eternal Life

And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his son (1 John 5:11).

When Jesus came into this world, He came do much more than merely die for our sins. He identified His mission in John 10:10: "...I came so that everyone would have life, and have it in its fullest"(Contemporary English Version). His death was actually a means to an end; to give us "life in its fullest." That life is eternal life. Eternal life is not life that goes on endlessly; it's the life of God. The Greek word is "Zoe," the essence and quality of divinity! It is the quality of life that God possesses.

The Bible says, "He that hath the Son hath the life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not the life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may have eternal life and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God" (1 John 5:12-13). So, eternal life isn't something you're going to have in the sweet by and by; it's not a promise, but a present-hour reality. It's the possession of the one who has recieved Jesus.

Little wonder the scriptures declare that "we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in the newness of life" (Romans 6:4). That means we died in Him, and have also been raised together with Him to a newness of life. This new life is the life of God. It's the very nature of God. Your human life was supplanted with the life and nature of God the very minute you received Jesus as Lord and Saviour of your life. That life in you makes indestructible and supernatural.

This is why you must preach the gospel(the good news- of eternal life). This is what should excite you to tell men and women about Jesus. He came to do more than forgive and save humanity from sin; He came also to give us the God-life. Through him, life and immortality has been brought to light(2 Timothy 1:10). Let those around you who haven't yet known the Lord know that they don't have to grope in the darkness anymore, for God has made it possible for them through Jesus to receive eternal life, and become partakers of the divine nature.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, I thank you for sending Jesus to die for me, therefore making it possible for me to recieve eternal life! I declare that this life is working in every fibre of my being, repelling sickness, disease, infirmity, death, poverty and everything that is inconsistent with the provisions of the divine life, in the Name of Jesus. Amen.

The Sovereign God

There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism. One God and Father of us all, Who is above all and Sovereign over all, pervading all and living in us all (Ephesians 4:6 AMP)

God is sovereign! He knows all things and can do all things! The Bible says heaven is His throne and the earth is His footstool (Acts 7:49). He's the most High God and His dominion is all over thrones, peoples, and governments. In Daniel 5:21, He's described as the Supreme God who controls all human kingdoms (GNB).

God is big! He's Deity, and you can't miss His sovereignty whenever He talks about Himself: "Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens: When I call unto them, they stand up together" (Isaiah 48:13). Many, however, have wondered why God, in His sovereignty, hasn't put an end to all the evil in the world. They wonder why wars and natural disasters still happen, when God in one instant, could simply put an end to them. But those who ask such questions don't understand who God is and how He operates.

Though God is sovereign, He's set principles in place to govern the earth. He's not subject to those principles but He doesn't violate them either. So though He created the world, He's not the one running the show, because He already gave man the whole earth to dominate (Genesis 1:28). Man lost his authority to the devil, who subsequently introduced an evil system that put the world in a mess.

But there's now another system in the world headed by the Lord Jesus Christ! This system is made up of us who are born-again associates of the God-kind--through whom God excercises His sovereignty in the earth. Thus we're God's agents of peace, prosperity, healing and salvation in a dying world. Just as the Lord sent Peter to preach to the Roman centurion and didn't do it Himself, He has commissioned us to excercise His sovereignty in our world. He wants to run the world through you!

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for the opportunity to hear your Word and be taught by you. Thank you for the authority you've given me to excercise dominion in the earth, and tame my world to conform to your eternal purposes, will and counsel, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

No More "Shadowboxing"

...I fight to win. I'm not just shadowboxing or playing around (1 Corinthians 9:26 TLB).

Have you ever seen a boxer who is practising the punches without an opponent? It's part of training, to learn how to throw hypothetical punches at an imaginary adversary. However, the boxer's coach knows that no matter how great the man looks shadowboxing like that, he will only know his true ability when he gets in the ring to fight for the belt.

Many people have found themselves shadowboxing and not making any real progress in their lives. They're running the race of life aimlessly; they have a ticket to nowhere. Don't run aimlessly.

As you play the game of life, maintain focus. What are the definate things you plan to achieve? Set your heart on them and let nothing stop you from achieving your goals. Remember, with the Holy Spirit living in you, you have the wisdom and impetus to succeed in any endeavour. You have in you the yeast to rise. You're a winner and a victor in Christ Jesus. Hallelujah.

PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for repositioning me through your WORD. I will not shadowbox this year and I will not run aimlessly or merely go through the motions. By the help of the Holy Ghost, I am yet achieving supernatural results in the Name of Jesus. Amen.

Choose The Right Thoughts

For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he... (Proverbs 23:7)

You have the ability to choose what you should think about and reject what you shouldn't. This might sound like a mystery to some people just because their minds run riot all the time! But the Bible says
"...whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report... think on these things" (Philippians 4:8). That suggests you can direct your mind to think the right thoughts only! You can control your thoughts.

Thoughts are more than mere imaginations; they are mental pictures of the mind with constructive or destructive capabilities. Thoughts, many times, are your own creation-they are the mental constructions of your mind based on your imaginations. They have the power to keep you in bondage or liberate you to be the best of you.

That's why until you change a man's way of thinking, his life and the circumstances of his existence will not change. Even God can't do anything for that man. That's how powerful our thoughts are, and this is the reason we're admonished in Scripture to choose our thoughts; think only on things that are just, pure, lovely and of good report. Don't let your mind wander off with the wrong thoughts; discipline your mind to choose thoughts you will accept and process.

The Bible says to mount a garrison over your heart (Proverbs 4:23); don't allow every thought to come in. Reject thoughts that tend to demean or depress you; accept thoughts of success, joy, victory and prosperity that are based on God's Word.

Your life goes in the direction of your thinking, for you're the character of your thoughts. So, it doesn't matter what happens to you, or in what unpleasant situation you find yourself, you can either decide to remain there or come out of it by imbibing the right thinking! Appraise the situation from the standpoint of God's Word, for nothing in this life can make you disadvantaged.

CONFESSION
God's Word is in my heart and in my mouth; and as I think and meditate on the Word today, the circumstances of my day align with the will and purpose of God for me! I attract myself only to thoughts that are consistent with my destiny in Christ-thoughts of victory, increase, success, health and strength, in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen

You Can Speak To Your Day!

The steps of a [good] man are directed {and} established by the Lord when He delights in his way [and He busies Himself with his every step](Psalm 37:23 AMP)

As Christians, we don't operate by chance, neither do we go anywhere or meet anyone by accident. If you don't understand this truth, you won't be able to control what happens to you and take possession of what belongs to you. But when you know how God works, and you discover your position in Christ, you'll realize nothing happens to you by accident, channce or coincidence.

The Spirit of God brings divine opportunities but it's your responsibility to recognize and maximize each one of them. This is the reason you must learn to declare God's Word into your day every morning, before you go out. Speak peace(nothing missing, nothing broken) and productivity to your day, and the Spirit of God will lead you to the right places at the right time! This is how to operate at the level of the supernatural, where you know nothing will happen to you by chance for God is not a God of chance. I'm sure you understand now why you need to arm yourself with God's Word.

Tell yourself, "today I'm going to walk into divine opportunities. I'm going to put the divinity of God in me to work." That means in every situation you find yourself, you're going to recognize the presence of God, and claim for yourself everything that's good and godly, and refuse to give attention to anything contrary.

Confession
I'm not a child of chance. God has prearranged my life for good. I walk those paths that have been laid out for me before the foundations of the world and I prosper in all my ways.

HOW TO CONQUER FEAR AND ANXIETY

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known unto God (Philipians 4:6).

The Word of God tells us to be anxious for nothing; that means to have no anxiety about anything. Rather, in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving you should make your requests be made known to God. The result of this is that the peace of God which surpasses all understanding shall garrison your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

Also, the Bible is replete with the admonition for us not to fear. Now if we couldn't stay without having fear and anxiety the scriptures wouldn't tell us not to fear or to refuse anxiety. God knows you could live without anxiety, panic attacks and fear, that's why He said for you not fear or be anxious. He only tells you to do what you have the capacity to do.

So in conquering fear and anxiety you've got to have faith in God's Word. Your heart(spirit) must be stable in prayer and supplication with thanksgiving as you express your faith towards God.
Fear is actually faith in the ability of all that is negative to stand against you and defeat you! Thus to conquer it, you have to have faith in the positiveness: faith in God's Word, faith in His love for you, faith in His grace, power and ability to put you over in life!

The knowlege of God's Word is the beginning of your deliverance from fear and anxiety. You can't have faith in God's Word if you don't know the Word. Your faith grows with the knowlege of the Word. As faith is stirred in your spirit, fear is dispelled. Jesus said in John 8:32 : "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" God's Word is the truth that delivers you from fear.

So it doesn't matter in what area fear tries to attack you, refuse to fret! Find out the truth from God's Word concerning the situation and stay your mind on that truth, refusing to be moved by any contrary or nagative information.

Prayer
Dear Father, I thank you for your Word in my spirit today stirs faith and dispels fear and anxiety in Jesus' Name. I refuse panic-attacks and reject every thought of worry and anxiety for I know that my faith in your Word and in your mighty power, love and grace towards me is my victory over the devil and the powers of darkness. Amen

Rhapsody of Realities - October 22, 2010
--Pastor Chris Oyakhilome

Now I want you to notice several things in Pastor Chris' message here.

  • The opening scripture shared with us how to pray. We don't get jumpy, but calmly let God know our request, and we give him thanks as though we've already recieved our answer. That means we should BELEIVE WHILE WE'RE STILL PRAYING, THAT WE'VE BEEN ANSWERED. - (That's a major secret on how recieve answers to prayers. first u ask, then give thanks believing you've been answered, while still praying. If you don't believe, you won't see the results. )
  • The second thing to notice is in the first paragraph; when your done praying, RELAX. Rest in the knowlege(by faith) that your loving father has heard you. If you keep asking over and over, it means you don't really believe that He'll do it, and remember that God is ONLY moved by your faith. He can't do anything for you without your permission and your faith is that permission (in Genesis the Bible tells us that he gave man dominion on earth- since he's a Spirit, he needs you to allow him to help you and that's through your trust in him).
  • Thirdly, I highlighted the true meaning of fear for you because when you have a clearer picture of what it is, you'll know how to defeat it. Fear is actually faith, but not in faith in your desired results; instead, it's trusting in the negative to conquer you(and acting on it via your anxiety and negative words). Remember, FAITH is an immutable law. IT ALWAYS WORKS whether in the negative or positive, so dispel the negative faith, ie fear, and live in the realm of God's light.

Light From Darkness

For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts... But we have this treasure in earthen vessels... (2 Corinthians 4:6-7) .

The Apostle Paul, through the wisdom of the Spirit describes for us in our opening verse something phenomenal about God; He commanded light to shine out of darkness. It's an known fact that light and darkness aren't compatible, so how then could light possible come out of darkness? Well the bible tells us that the things which are impossible with men are possible with God (Luke 18:27). Remember, the earth was a chaotic mass that was enveloped in complete darkness (Genesis 1:2). But at His command, God brought order to the maddening chaos and light leapt out of the looming darkness.

Now, here's an amazing thought: this same God, who commanded light to shine out of darkness, according to the latter part of our opening scripture, has Himself shone in our hearts! This means He has brought within us the same abilityto cause light to shine out of a dark situation. So as a Christian, the power to cause something good to come out of a negative situation resides in you. Thus, if for example, you've been diagnose with a debilitating ailment, that ailment or disease, as it were, is the darkness, and you can bring out light - divine healing - out of that situation.

No matter what darkness may be facing you today, you can command light to come out of it. If it's sickness or pain in the body of a loved one, place your hand on the part of their body where the sickness is and call forth healing. If it's with your finances, call forth prosperity! God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, has shone in your heart, making impossibilities possible. Can you see why you cannot be disadvantaged? Right in the midst of the seeming impossibilities are your opportunities to excel.

No wonder He says in 2 Corinthians 4:7 ''But we have this treasure in earthen vessels..." There's a treasure in you; it's a treasure of the power, love, light and divine perfection. God has shone in our hearts and given us the ability to bring light out of darkness. Therefore, make a change in your situation today. There's no problem too hard that you can't solve, no situation is too hopeless that can't change.

PRAYER
I know I cannot be disadvantaged because the God that does the unimaginable, the unthinkable, and the unexpected has shone in my heart; and as He is, so am I in this world. He has given me the ability to bring forth good from within me and change hopeless situations. For this I give praise and worship you, glorious Father, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
