Don't Yield to "The Accuser"

And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. (Revelation 12:10)

One of the devil's key strategies of keeping people in bondage is constantly reminding them of their past. He'll haunt them with the thoughts and pictures of all the wrong things they ever did. Sometimes he may even tell you how useless you are and give you more than enough reasons you would fail in life.

God's calling upon your life was clearly stated before the world began: He determined you would be a success in life. Therefore, you shouldn't allow the devil to give you a bad day through his railing accusations. Remember that one of his titles is "the accuser of the brethren," and he's an expert at it because he's been at it a long time.

However, when the devil keeps bringing pictures to your mind of all the supposed evil you did in the past and the terrible life you once lived, remind him that you're a new creation, and therefore has no past: "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new"(2 Corinthians 5:17). Never yield to the devil's accusation; even when you do something wrong, rather than brood over it and wish you were never born, act on the Word that says "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).

In Romans 6:14, God says, "sin shall not have dominion over you." So if you do something wrong, don't let it have dominion over you. Don't stay there wishing your world would come to an end. Ask the Lord to forgive you and He will. Understand that God loves you. He loved you before the world began--ever before you had enough sence to do what's right or wrong. His love for you is unconditional and everlasting!

If the devil reminds you of your past, remind him of his future: "And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever" (Revelation 20:10). Refuse to be weighed down by the failures of your past, and begin to declare your glorious future in Christ Jesus.

CONFESSION
I am a new creation in Christ Jesus, purged from sin and cleansed from all unrighteousness! I refuse to be moved by the devil's railing accusations, knowing that I'm the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus and there's therefore now no condemnation unto me. Hallelujah.
