One exciting thing about our relationship with the Lord is how he relates with each and every one of us personally. Sometimes, people think God relates with them according to numbers. Some people believe for instance, that if they have more people praying for them, God would respond to them faster. Such people are ignorant of the Bible; else they would have remembered that at one time, everyone in the world was destroyed by flood with the exception of Noah's family.
God relates with you according to your faith, not according to numbers, or how many you are in a group. The Bible says, "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him" (Hebrews 11:6). Your faith is the basis of pleasing Him; it's got nothing to do with numbers. Some others think of numbers differently; they feel okay to know they're not alone in their sufferings. You hear them make such comments as, "twenty of us were laid off from the company" or "so many of us in the class failed." That's not right. You're not supposed to view life from that perspective. Life is personal, likewise your salvation and your relationship with God.
Don't use the experiences of others to determine the flow of your life. It matters how you hear and respond to God. Don't ever think He sent His Son to die for the world because we were so many; if you were the only one on earth; Jesus would still have come to die for you.
God loves you as a person; He knows your name and relates with you as a unique individual. Nobody was ever like you before you were born; nobody is like you today in the world and nobody will ever be like you. You're the only one of you that God has ever had and will ever have. You're personal to Him and special. That's why He loves to relate with you personally.
CONFESSION
I'm God's divine masterpiece, made in His image and likeness. I've come to understand that I'm unique and God relates with me in my uniqueness. Thus, I go about my business today, conscious of the fact that I have all of God's attention and He loves me personally. Hallelujah!
